Banjo found his perfect family!
Banjo and Karly found themselves at the Charlotte animal shelter after their owner passed away unexpectedly. They spent 10 days there waiting to see if there was a family member that could take them. There wasn’t, but GRRCC was waiting in the wings! On the 10th day of shelter hold our fabulous foster mom Jennie went to get them and they were so glad to get out of there! Arriving at Jennie’s they met foster dad, their two sweet 2 legged kids and settled right into their foster home. Banjo is a big, tall 6 year old Golden and Karly is a 13 year old Jack Russell. They are a completely bonded pair. And as you can imagine, 10 lb Karly is the boss (Ha!!).
Banjo is in good health, handsome, and so very sweet! He likes dogs and kids, but cats are unknown. He’s about 100 lbs, and maybe needs to lose 5, so he’s in great shape! He’s a strong guy though, and can be a bit of a jumper when meeting new people so small kids may not be a good fit. Little Karly’s teeth were in horrible shape and she had to have all them pulled! But she’s now feeling much better and is pretty spunky for an older gal. The foster parents had company over Thanksgiving which meant two more dogs, two more adults, and two more kids. They all did great together! Karly and Banjo both like meeting new people and pups!
We know it’s an odd pair, a Golden and a Jack, but they fit together so well! They will need a home with a structurally fenced yard, no kids younger than 8 (possible exceptions for dog savvy children), and someone home the majority of the day. And being an older girl, Karly will need extra help keeping warm in the winter. She likes wearing the sweaters we’ve bought and loves to snuggle with you under blankets (Banjo likes to snuggle too but he’s a little big for your lap)! We can honestly say that Karly is the first Jack Russell to come into GRRCC, and we just adore her!!
