Piper – Adopted 7/2022

Piper living the healthy life with the support of her family!

Meet Piper! Piper is a 2 year old spayed female who made her way to GRRCC after being found tied to a tree and was picked up by Animal Control. Piper’s microchip led us to information about her early life as a puppy. Originally it seems Piper was well cared for but then something unknown happened where she was living outside and 50 lbs overweight.
Piper is a sweet, mild mannered girl who likes to play but longs to be a smaller size so that she will have even more enerty and playfulness. She loves water, playing with toys and being petted!

Piper’s ideal home:
1. Fenced in yard to run and play fetch
2. Only dog or sibling with a tolerant dog
3. People who are home most of the time
4. People who will help her lose weight through diet and exercise
5. Children over the age of 8
6. Cats are unknown

From Piper’s Foster Mom:
Piper likes to play with toys and balls. Her weight holds her back from playing as much as she wants. She wants to play with my other dogs as well. She is mild mannered. She has had accidents in the house early on but with a good routine there are no issues, but should be left in small space when not directly supervised as she will pee in the house. No bowel movements in the house. Piper knows sit, down, stay although not consistent yet. Working on it. She is great with other dogs but known with cats. Piper is great round my children who are teens. Her temperament is awesome, but due to her size she may accidentally knock someone over. She also wants to sit in your lap so she is not aware of her size. She is excellent on a leash and loves er walks. Piper is fine in the car and not overly anxious about it. Her favorite activities are: Laying in the sun, playing in water, sitting on the couch and being petted! She loves toys and balls! She can be a little territorial by barking when the neighbors walk by and does not always like to share her toys.
Piper is a great dog. She does not seem to have anxiety or behavioral issues with all she has been through. She likes to go on walks. Does fine with my dogs but not sure she would not be just as happy in a home by herself. She loves water and will sit on sprinkler heads in the yard to get wet! She loves to sit in the sun on the couch. She is very sweet and loving and just needs the attention to get her back to a healthy weight so she can play like a 2 year old golden should play !
