Happy Holidays everyone! It’s time once again for our annual year end Donate and Decorate fundraiser! Beginning Giving Tuesday, November 29th, and continuing through Christmas Eve, December 24th, your tax deductible donations will decorate our holiday scene. The donation option that you choose will add lights, ornaments, candy canes, presents and other scene options to decorate the tree and the room to complete the setting around our sleeping golden retriever puppy.
GRRCC has been rescuing Golden Retrievers in the Charlotte area since 1991. Last year, to celebrate the 30th anniversary of GRRCC, we added a $30 donation option of a large snowflake with a “30” and we’ll keep that option available this year as well.
While GRRCC doesn’t bring in as many Goldens as we did in the pre-social media years, and some of our dogs are doodles and friendly mixes, GRRCC is very much an active rescue in the Charlotte area. It seems a healthy dog is often re-homed to the general public on Facebook or Craigslist, leaving those with more challenging issues in the hands of rescues. With your help, GRRCC is up to the task to help any Golden, or Golden mix, and to do what we can to get these beautiful loving dogs into a forever home.

Here are only three cases that were brought into our rescue this year…
Lulu is a 3 year old sweet heart with chronic ear infections cause by underlying allergies. These untreated infections changed the structure of Lulu’s ears to the point of almost needing surgery. Lulu’s care was $5,800.
Eight year old Lily and her sister Chloe were abandoned in a run-down rural house. Lily lived most of her life in pain before having FHO surgery to restore pain-free mobility to her hip. Lily’s expenses were $3,400.
Grace ended up at the shelter after her house burned down. Grace was sneezing, coughing, and covered from head to toe with soot before being treated for smoke inhalation and lung infection. Grace’s care was $1,200.
