GRRCC St Patrick's Day parade

We FINALLY received the parade details!

Hello friends of GRRCC! You are welcome to join GRRCC with your Goldens, and golden mixes, in the annual St. Patrick’s Day parade in uptown Charlotte on Saturday, March 16, 2024.

The parade will begin promptly at 11 am, rain or shine! GRRCC is #76 and the parade organizers require us to be ready to go by 10:30 am. There will be a lot of people, closed streets and parking may not be close to our gathering area, so please allow yourself plenty of time.

Unfortunately we will not have a float this year so please make sure that both you and your dog will be able to walk the 1.25 mile parade route down Tryon and turning left on 3rd St.

When and Where to Meet: Please arrive no later than 10:00 am. We’ll gather together in the parking lot between the grassy area on Montford Point St (previously known as Phifer Ave) and Tryon St.

Where to Park: We can’t tell you where parking will be available, but parking can sometimes be found at the Mecklenburg County Vital Records building at 9th St and College St when arriving early. This is close to where we gather. There are other lots near 10th or 11th Street and there is some on street parking nearby as well. So again, just leave yourself enough time to find a place to park, knowing that it may not be extremely close to where we gather.

Where to Begin Marching: The parade will begin at Tryon and 9th St. There are parade organizers that will guide us where to go and when to start. GRRCC experienced marchers will help if any of you have any questions.

The Parade Route: The parade route goes south on Tryon to 3rd Street, then travel east (left turn) for several blocks where the group will disband.

After We March: An all-day festival will be held just south of 3rd Street and Tryon St, from 10am until 6pm. So stick around and enjoy Irish dancers, bagpipers, vendors and food and, of course, that magic elixir, Guinness Stout! The route is approximately one and a quarter mile. You can come with or without a Golden.

We look forward to a fun event. Questions?? Email info@grrcc.com. Don’t miss the fun and join us and all the other Goldens in this years parade.
