Our apologies, but it took a while for our elves to finish tallying up our final numbers for our Donate and Decorate year end fundraiser. Here are a few words from the Golden Retriever Rescue Club of Charlotte’s president, Ashley Finney.
I want to say a huge Thank you to all who donated to the Holiday Tree fundraiser. We closed the tree with a total amount of $9,530! Thank you all for your generous donations! The GRRCC is forever grateful for the wonderful fosters, volunteers and intake team who work hard to make the rescue flow smoothly. We all do this for the love of the Goldens, past and present who have left paw prints and lasting memories in our hearts!
To everyone involved in the GRRCC , from event volunteers, fosters, and the intake team, who put in hours and hours to make sure every golden surrendered was in the best hands, I thank you! 2024 was a year of learning new strategies and growth for all involved in the rescue. As a rescue, there were big shoes to fill, and we survived!
In 2024, the GRRCC provided support for 38 rescues. Of the 38 rescues 29 have found their forever families, 8 are still waiting to find the right family and we had one foster fail. It was a busy year for sure. Looking to 2025, we have some upcoming events that include Brewsology (February 22nd), our Annual meeting that is open to the public (February 23rd), the Charlotte St. Patrick’s Day Parade and a return of our Dunk Your Dog Day, just to name a few. I am looking forward to seeing many of you at these events!
