Jesse is a lovable, high-energy young dog looking for his perfect forever home! He is a sweet and fluffy goofball who loves to play ball, romp around with other dogs, and go on adventures. At just a year old, he’s still got plenty of puppy energy, which makes him a great match for an active family or individual who enjoys hiking, running, or spending time outdoors.

Jesse is crate-trained, housebroken, and knows several obedience commands including sit, stay, come, heel, down, and break (to release). He walks nicely on leash—though like any young dog, he can get distracted—and he rides calmly in the car, making him a great travel buddy. He’s also been out and about to parks, breweries, and stores like Home Depot, and handles new environments like a champ.

When it comes to dog friends, Jesse is social and playful, though he does best with other large dogs who can match his energy. He listens well if another dog sets boundaries, but he can get a bit overexcited in play. He’s curious about cats and may chase them if they run, but he’s shown no aggression toward them. Waffles would do best in an adult-only home or with older children over the age of 16.

Jesse thrives with structure and needs a confident owner who will set clear rules and boundaries.  He has a history of resource guarding and can get tense during feeding time.  Jesse is currently being fostered by a trainer.  The trainer will stay involved with Jesse to transition him to his adoptive home – training support will be provided.  Jesse is a smart, stubborn boy who benefits from consistency. His foster uses an e-collar as a training tool and recommends continuing with it; Jesse is already well-versed in its use and wears it daily, though it’s rarely needed now.
