GRRCC will again march in the annual St. Patrick’s Day parade in uptown Charlotte on Saturday, March 17, 2018. The parade begins at 11 a.m. starting at Tryon street, between 9th and 10th Street. The final starting location can change slightly depending on parade size. We will travel south on Tryon to 3rd Street, then travel east for several blocks, then walk back at our leisure to the starting point.  An all-day festival will be held just south of 3rd Street and will have Irish dancers, bagpipers, vendors and food and, of course, that magic elixir, Guinness Stout!

The route is approximately one and a quarter mile. No need to register!  Just come with your Golden!

We will meet in the grassy area at College Street & Phifer (between 9th and 10th Street) from 10:30 a.m to 11:00, so we will be ready to start walking as we get closer to our position in the parade. We are later in the parade roster so won’t get started until at least 11:30 or a bit later so we will remain at the Phifer grassy area until we are closer to our number.  Parking is available at the County Hal Marshall building just across from our meeting area.  If that lot is filled, there are other lots closer to 10th or 11th Street and there is some on street parking nearby.

The meeting area is a grassy area where our dogs can socialize before the parade begins.  We look forward to a fun event. Questions?? Email

New this year, we’re going to kick it up a notch, to borrow a phrase, and include a float for some of our Goldens, and perhaps a few humans in their golden years, that are unable to make the walk.

Don’t miss the fun and join us and all the other Goldens in this years parade.

Also new, and special, this year, is we kick off the GRAND OPENING of our GRRCC store! We’re excited to open it up for our St Patrick’s Day t-shirt sales. We have a couple of great new t-shirt designs to choose from that celebrate a few wonderful things “Golden”.

Check out our small, and soon to be growing, store.
