Victor – Gentle Senior Gentleman Looking for a Soft Landing

Victor is an 11-year-old, 108-pound Golden Retriever with a heart as big as his paws. This handsome senior is the definition of a laid-back companion. He’s happiest simply being near his people—quietly following you from room to room, settling onto a cozy dog bed, and enjoying the comfort of being part of the family.

Victor is a mild-mannered, polite boy who has been an easy houseguest in his foster home. He is reliably housebroken, hasn’t had a single accident, and can be trusted to relax quietly while his foster is away. Most of the time he can be found snoozing peacefully on the floor or on a dog bed, patiently waiting for his people to return.

Although Victor is a senior, he still has a playful side. He enjoys stuffed toys (though they may not survive long!) and has recently started playing outside with his foster siblings as he’s grown more comfortable. Occasionally, he and his friend Dixie will even treat the neighborhood to a little evening “concert,” showing off Victor’s deep, husky bark.

Victor gets along wonderfully with other dogs and has also been perfectly respectful of the resident cat—who happens to be an 18-year-old household boss. He’s a friendly, easygoing companion who would likely do well in a home with another calm dog, though he would also be happy soaking up all the attention as your one and only.

Because of arthritis in his back legs, Victor enjoys shorter, leisurely walks rather than long adventures. He walks nicely on a leash and is happy to go for a stroll, especially if it means spending time with you. He rides comfortably in the car and can get into a sedan on his own, though a ramp or a helping hand may be needed for taller vehicles.

Victor’s favorite things are simple: being brushed, spending time with his humans, relaxing indoors, and enjoying the occasional treat (he’s especially fond of rice cakes!). When it’s mealtime, he’ll even do an adorable little “dance,” lifting his front paws with excitement while waiting for his bowl.

Victor would thrive in a calm home where he can enjoy the relaxed life he deserves. A family that spends plenty of time at home and appreciates a quiet, affectionate companion would be perfect. He isn’t looking for a high-energy lifestyle—just a comfortable place to rest his head and people to love.

Despite his age, Victor still has a sparkle in his eyes and plenty of love to give. He is a sweet, gentle soul who will reward his forever family with loyalty, warmth, and quiet companionship.
