At 12.5 years young, Olive is a gentle, loving golden girl who still has plenty of pep in her step. She may be considered a “senior,” but don’t tell her that—she’ll happily prove you wrong with her joyful tail wags, bursts of playful energy, and excitement for walks.

Olive is the perfect mix of spry and mellow. She’ll grab her leash or a ball and bounce with excitement, then settle right in to relax by your side. She’s wonderfully housebroken, has full reign of her foster home, and doesn’t need or want a crate. Olive is happiest just being close to her people—she’s a true Velcro golden who will follow you wherever you go.

She has shown herself to be:

• 100% housebroken, no crate needed
• Great with children (even very young ones)
• Friendly and social with other dogs
• A sweetheart on leash, though she may tug a little to greet another dog
• A wonderful car rider
• A quick learner who knows “sit,” “down,” and has good recall

Olive does have some normal senior anxieties. She gets worried during storms and may whine or pace when left alone, but she is not destructive. She’s slowly been blossoming in her foster home, showing more of her sweet, affectionate, and playful side every day.

Because she’s been through a lot of change, Olive will need patience as she settles into her forever home. She’d do best in a calm environment with loving humans who are home often or like to include her in their daily life. A single-story home or one with short, easy stairs would be ideal for her comfort and safety.

Most of all, Olive wants what every golden wants—to love and be loved. She will thrive in a home where her people are her world, whether she’s your one-and-only or sharing her space with another pup.
