Your donation will decorate our GRRCC Holiday scene!
Donations will add lights, ornaments, candy canes, presents and more.
Happy Holidays everyone! It’s time once again for our annual year end Donate and Decorate fundraiser! Beginning Giving Tuesday, December 3rd, and continuing through Christmas Eve, December 24th.
Your tax deductible donations will decorate our holiday scene. The donation option that you choose will add lights, ornaments, candy canes, presents and other scene options to decorate the tree and the room to complete the setting around our sleeping golden retriever puppy.
GRRCC has been rescuing Golden Retrievers in the Charlotte area since 1991. While GRRCC doesn’t bring in as many Goldens as we did in the pre-social media years, and some of our dogs are doodles and friendly golden mixes, GRRCC is very much an active rescue in the Charlotte area. It seems a healthy dog is often re-homed to the general public on Facebook or Craigslist, leaving those with, oftentimes, with more challenging health and behavior issues in the hands of rescues. With your help, GRRCC is up to the task to help any Golden, or Golden mix, and to do what we can to place these beautiful loving dogs into a loving forever home.
Your donation helps GRRCC provide the medical, and other care, needed by our Goldens while on their journey to be matched with their perfect forever home.
We recognize that there are many deserving groups that need help for their causes. GRRCC is grateful for anything that you can offer to help. Thank you again.
Meet 6 of the 38 wonderful dogs that were brought into our rescue so far this year…
Chase is a 1 year old slobber monster who broke his leg after tripping on deck stairs during one of our drenching Charlotte rains this summer. Chase went to his loving forever home still wearing his splint!. Chase’s expenses were $1,801.
Forest is a 2 year old golden mix that was hit by a car and taken to Animal Control. The GRRCC ortho specialist at CVS reported that Forest’s right front leg was completely without sensation due to root nerves in the neck region being torn away from the spinal cord. His forelimb was amputated but a wonderful adoptive family came along to show Forest his best life on 3 legs. Forest’s medical expenses were $4,656.
Chassie is a sweet senior whose unmanaged allergic skin condition had progressed to chronic inflammation with extreme irritation and hair loss. Chassie’s skin is so damaged that the vet is unable to perform surgery to remove a tumor on the back of her neck. With outstanding care by the wonderful vet and her extraordinary foster family, Chassie is feeling so much better after just 1 month and is actually growing peach fuzz! Chassie’s medical expenses were $4,500.
Luke is a 2024 rescue that didn’t require thousands of dollars of medical procedures, but his story is equally as important to our mission at GRRCC. Luke is a 4 month old pup who came to GRRCC with severe wounds where a rope had been embedded in his neck. After twice a week wound care and bandage changes in his loving foster home, Luke healed up nicely and looked fantastic when he met his adopters. Luke’s vet expenses were $488.
Marlow and Princess are two rescues that were surrendered in 2024 that both required heartworm treatment. Heartworm treatment is both life saving for the dog and requires special care for over a month from an experienced foster family. Marlow is currently undergoing heartworm treatment and Princess is thriving after completing her heartworm treatment. Together, Marlow and Princess’s treatments will total around $4,475.
