EXEMPTIONS
If you cannot meet any one of the foregoing eligibility requirements, then in
most cases, we cannot proceed with your application. However, we recognize that
there may be exceptional applicants whose circumstances do not fit within our
guidelines. Therefore, an experienced dog owner may request an exemption to any
GRRCC eligibility requirement. An exemption request must include a detailed
letter describing your circumstances, lifestyle, previous dog ownership and how
you plan on safely exercising and managing a Golden Retriever. Without letter,
your exemption request will not be considered. Exemption requests from first
time dog owners will not be considered. If your request is accepted, a letter of
recommendation from your veterinarian regarding the care and well being of your
previously owned dog(s) will be required and your application will be forwarded
to a Home Visit Coordinator to schedule a home visit interview.
