A CHARITY GOLF TOURNAMENT

BENEFITING GOLDEN RETRIEVER RESCUE


The Golden Retriever Rescue Club of Charlotte, Inc. (GRRCC) will hosts its 6th annual “Golfing for Goldens” charity golf tournament on Saturday, September 6, 2008 at StoneBridge Golf Club in Waxhaw, NC beginning at 1:30 PM.

GRRCC is a volunteer-staffed, non-profit organization located in Charlotte, NC.  Donations and fund-raising events allow us to care for and find loving homes for unwanted, orphaned and stray Golden Retrievers from all over the Charlotte region. Without fund-raising, our programs would not be possible. 

Please help us in our continuing efforts by joining us for a day of “Golfing for Goldens”.

The tournament format is a Four-person Captain’s Choice with a shotgun start. Registration is only $ 80 per player and includes golf, range balls, cash prize ($ 400 per team) for low gross and low net (2nd and 3rd place low gross and low net will win rounds of golf).  There will be a closest to the pin hole and closest to the line, and great raffle items, as in the past.  Plus special rates on practice rounds the week prior to the tournament.  “Mulligans”will be available for $ 5 each or 5 for $ 20.  Rounding out the event will be a raffle and silent auction for a number of valuable items and a BBQ dinner you will not believe.

Deadline for player registration is Tuesday, September 2, 2008.
There will be a 120 player maximum so register early.

The "Golden Quilters" bring you a one of a kind Golden Retriever Quilt to benefit the Golden Retriever Foundation April Fund.

The quilt was assembled from blocks made by talented quilters across the country. This quilt is a true act of love thru the donations and talents of Golden Retriever lovers and depicts the many aspects in the life and work of Golden Retrievers.

The quilt top is constructed using hand dyed batik fabrics of high quality cotton. The quilt measures 106" x 106" and will be a wonderful art display or bed quilt for the lucky winner. The quilt will have a pocket for a hanging rod should the winner choose to hang this work of art.

Tickets will be individually filled out for each ticket purchased. No ticket stubs will be mailed.

The quilt will be on display at the Golden Retriever National show in Warwick, RI and ticket sales will be available during the week of the show. The winning ticket will be drawn before the completion of Best of Breed Judging. Winner does not need to be present.
